| FFC to Administer Emergency
Loans in Central Florida
Florida First Capital will administer small business
emergency bridge loans for businesses affected by
Hurricane Charley in Osceola, Orange, Polk, Seminole
and Volusia counties. Though FFC is not the first
point of contact for applicants, the company is managing
all back-office aspects of the bridge loans to be
used for maintaining or restarting businesses impacted
by the storm.
At the request of the State of Florida, Florida First
Capital will administer the bridge loan program in
five Central Florida counties. The short-term loan
program is available to small businesses that are
experiencing difficulty surviving or re-starting as
a result of Hurricane Charley’s physical impact on
the business.
The loans are intended to be repaid from insurance
proceeds or proceeds of other financing obtained in
connection with the effects of the storm.
The interest-free loan amounts range from $1,000
to $25,000 and are for terms of 90 to 180 days. Eligible
businesses must have been established for at least
one year, have between two and 100 employees and have
experienced physical damage due to Hurricane Charley.
