Florida First Capital Expands Its SBA 504 Lending Operations into Alabama, Georgia

Florida First Capital is pleased to announce that the Small Business Administration (SBA) has authorized the company to offer the 504 Loan Program to eligible small businesses located in Baldwin, Covington, Escambia and Mobile counties in Alabama and Camden, Charlton, Seminole and Thomas counties in Georgia.

Florida First Capital Expands Its SBA 504 Lending Operations into Alabama and GeorgiaFlorida First Capital is a nonprofit, SBA regulated Certified Development Company (CDC) with a primary mission of economic development and job creation. For more than 30 years, Florida First Capital has assisted thousands of small businesses throughout all of Florida’s 67 counties to grow and expand their operations by providing available and affordable commercial financing through the SBA 504 Loan Program. The intent of our recent expansion is to carry forward that mission into Alabama and Georgia.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to expand our area of operations to include underserved markets of South Alabama and South Georgia. We have been successful in our existing Florida markets by emphasizing our partnerships with lenders as we strive to be a creative, responsive and cost-effective resource for SBA 504 lending,” said Todd Kocourek, President & CEO of Florida First Capital. As one of the leading SBA 504 lenders in the nation, we bring a broad depth of knowledge and experience to the process and look forward to putting that to work in these new markets,” he said.

The SBA 504 Loan Program provides up to 90% below-market, fixed interest rate financing with repayment terms up to 20 years to construct new facilities or purchase existing ones (including green energy projects); renovate and modernize existing owner-occupied properties; refinance commercial mortgage and other business debt; and/or purchase long-life machinery and equipment.

The 504 Loan Program is a partnership program between Florida First Capital and a commercial lender. Typically, a commercial lender provides financing for 50% of the 504 loan project and takes a first lien position; Florida First Capital/SBA provides 40% of the project financing and takes a second lien position; and the borrower provides a down payment of just 10%.

SBA 504 loans provide up to $5 million for standard and public policy projects (aggregate limit) and up to $5.5 million per green energy and small manufacturer projects. These are SBA 2nd mortgage loan portions only; there is no limit on the overall dollar size of a project. Projects start at $125,000 and have exceeded $20 million.

At Florida First Capital, prompt and efficient loan delivery and excellent customer service are our hallmarks. We work hard to earn our clients’ and lending partners’ business and sincerely appreciate the opportunity to work with and support Florida and now South Alabama and South Georgia small businesses by providing a competitive avenue for financing while promoting business growth and job creation in local communities.

Whether a small business is expanding or just starting out, with Florida First Capital as their trusted SBA 504 lender, they’ll spend less time worrying about their loan and more time doing what they do best – running their small business, creating jobs and supporting the economy.
