The Florida Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (FLAGGL) 2017 Annual Conference for Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 and 7(a) lenders will be held Sept. 13-15 at the JW Marriott in Orlando.
This year's conference will host a cross section of attendees from various industry institutionsthroughout the state of Florida. The annual conference will include general sessions, keynote addresses, breakoutsessions and networking opportunities with other colleagues and SBA officials.
The conference agenda aims to provide essential updates from some of the industry's foremost experts about the newest hot topics and developments in SBA 504 and 7(a) lending.
Top brass from the SBA's Office of the Administrator as well as the Northern and Southern Districts in Florida will discuss the Agency's latest regulatory environment, policy updates and other hot issues impacting the 504 and 7(a) programs - updates you need to know to remain at the forefront of competiveness in an ever changing SBA lending environment.
Additionally, you'll also get the latest updates from the leadership at NADCO, NAGGL and the SBDC - the trade associations that work tirelessly in support of the SBA lending industry.
There are also three distinct and instructive breakout tracks being offered this year that have been designed for Loan Officers/BDOs, Management, and Loan Operations. Attending personnel will be provided with a variety of the latest technical information, from current and emerging challenges to best practices in 504 and 7(a) lending.
Loan Officers/BDOs Track:
Hear from high performers on how they originate and present deals to Underwriting and how they get those deals across the goal line.
Topics include: How to Improve Sales Productivity; Storytelling - It's All in the Presentation; and Structuring and Underwriting Difficult Loans.
Management Track:
Follow the path to success and hear how your colleagues successfully grow their SBA divisions. You'll also get the latest updates about the SBA's performance on the 504 and 7(a) programs.
Topics include: Critical Success Factors to Growth; Tough Policy Issues/New SOP; 7(a) and 504 Origination Center Performance; and Recruiting and Retaining Your Sales Force.
Loan Operations Track:
Learn about current technical issues affecting Loan Operations as well as the growing impact of fraud and cyber security issues and how to recognize and mitigate the risks.
Topics include: Data Breaches and Cybersecurity; Common Reasons for Screen-Outs; Submitting Loans for Standard Processing and New and Scary Fraud Trends.
Pre-Conference NAGGL Underwriting Training:
Additionally, a two-day NAGGL training session - Fundamentals of SBA Credit Underwriting - will be offered immediately prior to the main conference (Sept. 12-13). Case studies will be presented to walk-through credit underwriting ‘the SBA way' and explore ratio analysis, analyzing projections, determining repayment ability, preparing the credit memo and more. The SBA now mandates debt service coverage ratios and the agency's focus on lenders' underwriting practices remains strong. Learn the potential pitfalls that can put your SBA guaranty at risk.
At FLAGGL 2017, you'll get all of this plus much more, not to mention the BEST networking opportunity in Florida for SBA lenders! Your colleagues will be there. You should be, too.
