During Women’s History Month and throughout the year, Florida First Capital celebrates women-owned small businesses who help propel our economy forward.
Meet two womenpreneurs with the passion and vision to build successful businesses that sustain their customers and communities.
Meredith Corey-Disch of Community Loaves
Founded in 2012, Community Loaves is a woman-owned neighborhood bakery in the Murray Hill area of Jacksonville, Florida. Over the past 8 years, Corey-Disch has grown the business from a wholesale bread bakery into a full-fledged café serving breakfast and lunch 6 days a week.
Rising demand for their breads and baked goods and a consistently full capacity café necessitated relocating from the 1,550 square-foot space they were occupying. Luckily, the ideal location was right next door.
With the help of an SBA 504 loan through Florida First Capital Vice President and Business Development Officer, Kristen Tackett, Community Loaves purchased and renovated the 3,856 square-foot building. 504 financing also helped secure equipment for the business.
When entrepreneurs own their commercial properties, they save money on expensive leases and have more control over their operational budgets.
Even as they grow, Community Loaves remains dedicated to their original mission – Serving their community, customers, employees, city and earth.

Lourdes McAgy of Total Nutrition Technology
Founded in 2005, Total Nutrition Technology (TNT) is located in Leesburg, Florida. With a background in biology and chemistry, McAgy guides TNT in the manufacturing of nutritional supplements, powdered beverages, grains/granola and more.
More than 10 years ago, TNT's first customer ordered a full line of supplements to be carried in 160 of its stores – today, that product line is offered in over 500 of the customer's locations.
With the company’s continued growth, TNT began to feel the limitations of its existing facility. Thanks to an SBA 504 loan through Florida First Capital Vice President and Business Development Officer, John Hanrahan, TNT built two new office/warehouse buildings to expand production capabilities and product offerings.
Moreover, TNT plans to increase bids to national, international, federal and military accounts. The new 57,000 square-foot combined space provides confidence that orders from both existing and potential clients can be fulfilled in a timely fashion.
Today, TNT’s client list has grown to include national and regional companies, such as Tru-Nut, Aldi, Planet Smoothie, Tropical Smoothie, and AI Sports with products sold in retail chains such as Publix, TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Whole Foods.

Florida First Capital applauds woman-owned small businesses like Community Loaves and Total Nutrition Technology that create jobs and help define and build our communities.
